Phamaly Theatre Company is celebrating three decades of inclusive theatre and is bringing their show to Colorado Springs May 15-18th! Always wanted to try acting but never found the proper accommodations or accessibility? Join Phamaly Theatre Company in creating the story of adventure, loss, and resumption in a new and interactive way!
They are welcoming members from the IDD community to join as participants and audience members. Interested individuals of all ages, levels, and backgrounds are invited to join these performances. A maximum of 15 participants with cognitive disabilities come to each show and every performance is adapted to their specific needs.
In collaboration with Kelly Hunter of Flute Theatre, Phamaly Theatre Company will present Pericles, An Adaptive Show for People with Cognitive Disabilities.
The production uses Kelly Hunter’s Hunter Heartbeat Method, providing a unique and engaging experience for participants and audience members welcoming all types of cognitive disabilities. The Hunter Heartbeat Method is a series of sensory games created for autistic people to play. These are playful games of humanity that need only the human voice and body and another person to play with. The games are derived from Shakespeare’s poetic exploration of how it feels to be alive.
