What we know so far
The budget resolution has passed through the House of Representatives with a 217-215 vote on February 25th. Included in the resolution was a budget cut of $880 billion within the Energy and Commerce Committee, which oversees Medicaid.
Medicaid is not specifically listed in the budget framework, though cuts to Medicaid are a real possibility.
What does this mean?
Currently, Medicaid services for individuals with disabilities have not been affected. The budget resolution now has a long road to final enactment. In the meantime, advocacy is key!
